About Me

551821_10150846232821805_64523327_nWho Am I?

Welcome to my website. My name is Richard, or more commonly referred to by my friends and family as ‘Bub The Builder’. I am a Navy veteran who served six years of honorable active duty service. My day job does not involve woodworking, but if I had my way, I would love to do this for the rest of my life.

How Did I Get Started in Woodworking?

I have always been mechanically inclined (come from a construction family). I love building things with my hands and restoring beautifully engineered antiques. I am very passionate about woodworking/restoration and refuse to accept the impossible project. I am not the kind of person that always says “why?”. I am the person that says “why not”. I am always searching and learning and I firmly believe that I will never stop that philosophy. I am fascinated with historical woodworking and quality in general – the era when things were built right and made to last. If I had to sum up my passion for this trade, I would say I am the Rick Dale (American Restoration) of restoring beautiful projects, the Mike Holmes (Holmes on Homes) of doing things RIGHT and the Norm Abram of quality wood worksmanship.

What’s the Goal of this Website?

I am truly passionate about my work and nothing pleases me more than the expression on a clients face when they see the finished product. If this is your first time to my website, please have a look around. If you have any questions, I am more than willing to answer them. I hope that you enjoy the site and I look forward to connecting with you. I really want to start writing a woodworking blog, record and post tutorials and share my woodworking experience. Time will tell where this website goes from here.

Cheers….

– Richard Amburgey
